Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, fenugreek leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, carom seeds, cumin seeds, and salt.
- Add yogurt and oil, then mix well.
- Gradually add water and knead into a soft, smooth dough.
- Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Step 2: Roll Out the Thepla
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a ball.
- Dust with flour and roll each ball into a thin, round flatbread.
Step 3: Cook the Thepla
- Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat.
- Place a rolled-out thepla on the tawa and cook for 30-40 seconds.
- Flip, brush with a little oil, and cook for another 30-40 seconds.
- Flip again, press lightly, and cook until golden brown spots appear.
- Repeat for all theplas.
Step 4: Serve
- Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or chutney.
