Ingredients:

For the Salmon:

  • 2 salmon fillets (skinless, about 6 oz each)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

For the Pasta:

  • 8 oz (225g) pasta (linguine, penne, or spaghetti)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup (120ml) pasta water (reserved)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • ¼ cup (10g) chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:

Step 1: Cook the Salmon

  1. Season the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, paprika, chili flakes, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat 1 teaspoon olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Cook the salmon for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove from the pan, let it rest for a minute, then flake it into large chunks.

Step 2: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  2. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.

Step 3: Make the Sauce

  1. In the same pan used for the salmon, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, and hot sauce (if using).
  5. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, then add reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
  2. Gently fold in the flaked salmon, ensuring it is well distributed.
  3. Cook for 1 more minute, then remove from heat.

Step 5: Serve and Garnish

  1. Transfer to serving plates and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  2. Serve hot with extra Parmesan cheese and a lemon wedge.
