Ingredients

For the Choux Pastry:

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs

For the Cream Filling:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Choux Pastry

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, combine butter and water. Heat until the butter melts and the mixture begins to boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low, add flour and salt, and stir continuously until the dough forms a ball.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, until smooth and glossy.

Step 2: Bake the Puffs

  1. Transfer the dough into a piping bag and pipe small mounds onto the prepared baking sheet.

  1. Cut each puff in half or make a small hole in the bottom.
  2. Pipe the whipped cream into each puff.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

  1. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate for extra flavor.
  2. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
